My first GlossyBox experience. Ooooh...
Sometimes the products can be full size offerings. Each box usually has a monetary value of greater than £10 when calculated. Now the thing with the GlossyBox service is that each month they will have a certain selection of products and you will receive a combination of some of the products, so chances are that the products you receive will differ slightly from someone else that also subscribed. Now this does tend to cause some friction as some boxes have a higher value then others & some of a value of less.
I've always been interested in these beauty box subscriptions, but never committed to any until now. Before deciding to go with the GlossyBox subscription, I did research into all the available services on offer. Such as She Said Beauty Box, JolieBox etc.
I think I chose GlossyBox over the others was because I think it stands out more in quality & because I'm a sucker for the packaging! (ahaha).
So without further ado...
Here's my first GlossyBox & what's inside.
May being GlossyBox's 1st birthday, it had special wrapping paper that had cakes & cosmetics (what more could a girl ask for?) illustrated on it. GlossyBox also added a bonus gifting of, a little compact mirror & a 'Happy Birthday GlossyBox' balloon. Aaaww.
Every box comes with a little notecard that tells you which products you recieved & a little bit about them or where to get them from.
In my box, the samples I received were
- Noble Isle- Summer Rising Shower Gel
- Lolita Lempicka- Fragrance Samples, Eau de Parfum & Leau en Blanc
- Apivita- Express Beauty Mask with Honey (full size)
- Osmo- Berber Hair Oil
- HD Brows- Grow Baby Grow (full size)
Group shot with all the products.
Noble Isle- Summer Rising Shower Gel
Absolutely gorgeous packaging. Fresh clean scent. A little too masculine for my tastes but have passed it on to my brother.Pretty detailing.
Lolita Lempicka- Fragrance Samples
I found the Eau de Parfum to strong floral for my sensitive nose, but the Eau en Blanc... I absolutely fell in love with! On first impressions I felt it was a nice sweet baby powdery girly fragrance but maybe a bit more for the mature lady. But once it was on the skin it became the most perfect fragrance for me & not at all old lady scent.
Apivita- Beauty Express Face Mask with Honey
I was very excited to try this, as I suffer from very dry skin, & thought this would be a very nice warmingly nourishing mask. I was slightly disappointed with the fragrance of the mask, once on the skin it smelt like that sickly 'new car' smell (which is like induced headache territory for moi) & extremely faint hint of honey. After washing it off, my face did feel a little nicer than usual & I did notice that it felt a bit more plump. However, sadly due to the scent I have not used it since (as I feel sick just thinking of the scent and typing about it...). I think it's one maybe to try & not be deterred by my opinions as I have an extremely sensitive nose.Osmo- Berber Hair Treatment
I love this! It does smell like those fizzy cola bottle sweeties. I've found since using it, my hair has been less frizzy, has had more body & felt smoother to the touch. I like using it on cleaned towel dried hair. My tip to apply would be to rub a little on the tips of your fingers, then massage into the roots of the hairs and work through to the ends. Then brush through with a paddle brush.HD Brows- Grow Baby Grow
Now this is a treatment for sparse brows. Being of asian descent, I have no worries in that department. So when I recieved this I felt like it was wasted it on me. However on examining the packaging I saw that it could be used on lashes too. Now for this purpose it is right up my street. I have been using it now for about 2 weeks & can say that it has been a pleasure to use. I don't know whether I'm tricking myself into believe it does work, but do feel that my lashes are stronger, more resilient & hold their shape better. Although its not a dramatical improvement it does feel like its significant. Hopefully with repeated use, it will yield better results.Overall I am very happy with my first GlossyBox experience and look forward to the next one.
